Call for Nominations: Information and Instructions

National Advisory Committee on Children and Disasters

The Office of the Secretary is accepting application submissions from qualified individuals who wish to be considered for membership on the National Advisory Committee on Children and Disasters (NACCD). Nominees are being accepted in the following categories: non-federal healthcare professionals and representatives from State, tribal, territorial or local health care official.

Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 300hh-10a, NACCD members are appointed by the Secretary of HHS from among the nation’s preeminent scientific, public health and medical experts. We are currently seeking qualified nominees to fill the following vacancies:

  • Non-federal healthcare professionals with expertise in pediatric medical disaster planning, preparedness, response and recovery, and
  • Representatives from state, local, territorial or tribal agencies with expertise in pediatric disaster planning, preparedness, response or recovery.

Instructions:

  1. The deadline for all application submissions is February 14, 2014, at 11:59 pm ET.
  2. Please prepare the following electronic copies:
  • A one page biography
  • A full curriculum vitae or resume, limited to 35 pages including publications
  • Any letters of support and/or references
  1. All application packages must be submitted electronically by filling out the NACCD Call for Nominations Form.
  • Note: If you are applying to more than one vacancy category, please indicate as such in the Professional Background narrative section.
  • Note: All attachments can be uploaded into the electronic form prior to submission.
