Planning Considerations:

  • For Mom
    • Know the risks of preterm labor & talk with your provider
    • Program important phone numbers on your phone
    • Put together a transportation plan to your medical facility.

  • For Family
    • Know signs of labor & who to contact
    • Sign up for community alerts through your local emergency managment agency
    • Text messaging is most reliable. Know who & how to text.

  • Community
    • Educate emergency responders, case managers, & home visitors on considerations for pregnant women & newborns during an emergency. Know where to direct the families for appropriate care & assistance.
