#Prep4Moms Twitter Chat: Emergency Preparedness for Moms and Little Ones

Everyone needs an emergency plan.  But if you are a new or expecting mom, then your plan needs a few extra steps.

Join us for a twitter chat on September 3 from 1:00-2:00 PM EDT and learn about ways that pregnant women and new moms can keep themselves and their babies safe before, during and after an emergency.  We plan to answer your questions and discuss a wide range of topics, including:

  • Specific items for your emergency kit and plan
  • Steps pregnant women and new moms can take to keep your family safe
  • Recognizing and coping with stress
  • Protecting your baby from contaminated water and other hazards

The chat will be co-hosted by the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (@PHEgov) and the HHS Administration for Children and Families (@OHSEPR).  The chat will feature experts from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as well as our partners, such as Heidi Murkoff from What to Expect, the American Academy of Pediatrics, USDA, FEMA and others.

You can follow the chat by using #Prep4Moms in all of your tweets.
