On October 22, 2015 the Government Coordinating Council members and Sector Coordinating Councils held their annual teleconference to discuss the current activities of the Healthcare and Public Health Sector and plans for the upcoming year. The keynote presentation titled “Yale New Haven Health System’s Approach to Aligning Risk Assessment, Hazard Vulnerability and Business Continuity Planning” was delivered by Richard Smith of the Yale New Haven Health System Center for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response. During this presentation Mr. Smith gave an overview of the Risk Assessment tool that was developed and implemented in the YNHHS. Additionally, an online presentation from the National Counterintelligence and Security Center was provided regarding potential exploitations of data obtained during the 2015 Office of Personnel Management breach and described actions individuals can take to protect themselves.
