Key Accomplishments: REMM and CHEMM

  • Created dynamic teams whose expert advice during emergencies helps first responders and emergency departments make decisions and treat injuries and illness from radiation or chemicals.
  • Developed radiological and chemical emergency medical management online tools to bridge the information gaps and ensure first responders and emergency providers can triage and treat patients accurately.
  • REMM was accessed 170,000 times on the first day after the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster and hundreds of thousands of times throughout the incident. The CHEMM app has been downloaded nearly 500,000 times.
