About AMCG

The Office of Acquisitions Management, Contracts and Grants (AMCG) supports the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) with the development and purchase of the necessary vaccines, drugs, therapies, and diagnostic tools for public health medical emergencies through contracting and assistance agreement oversight and support. This includes the procurement of commodities and services needed to support the public health response to and recovery from domestic and international public health and medical threats and emergencies, and procurement of the advanced development of medical countermeasures to natural and intentional threats to public health.

All solicitations in support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response for commodities, services, research and development or other requirements can be found on the Federal Business Opportunities website by searching for the keyword ASPR.

There are several different types of solicitations:

  1.  Request for Quote (RFQ) – mostly used for purchasing commercially available commodities under $6.5 million.
  2. Request for Proposal (RFP) – mostly used to support research and development of new products or processes which are open for a specified period of time or commercial items over $6.5 million
  3. Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) – used to support research and development of new products or processes and are open for an extended period of time

There are several different types of awards that may be made to a successful offeror, the options are clearly specified in the solicitation.
