Office of Resource Management

HHS/ASPR Office of the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary

The Office of Resource Management provides all of the support needed to complete ASPR’s mission in both steady-state and during response operations from ensuring IT needs are met to handling logistics to deploy both people and medical assets to the field.

Resource Management also is home to ASPR’s Contracting and Grants Division, which supports ASPR with the procurement of commodities and services needed to support the public health response to and recovery from domestic and international public health and medical threats and emergencies.  In compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act, BARDA has a separate contract management and acquisitions division that solely focuses on the procurement of the advanced development of medical countermeasures to natural and intentional threats to public health.

The Office of Resource Management also contains the Strategic National Stockpile, the nation’s largest supply of potentially life-saving pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for use in a public health emergency severe enough to cause local supplies to run out.
