Public Health Emergency - Leading a Nation Prepared
As a USPHS officer, Dr. Yeskey also worked with the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health. In addition, Dr. Yeskey has a response background; she has been trained as an EMT, and was a member of a Disaster Medical Assistance Team. She has responded to natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, has pre-deployed for planned mass public events, and was part of the CDC’s response to events of 9/11 and the anthrax attacks.
Before her PHS commission, Dr. Yeskey worked at the George Washington University Medical Center, in Washington, D.C., for six years - where she was a member of the cardiology team and worked in the Coronary Care and Post Coronary Care Units.
Dr. Yeskey received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pharmacy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and a Doctor of Pharmacy from Creighton University in Omaha, NE.
