Public Health Emergency - Leading a Nation Prepared
HHS/ASPR deployed a team of 15 health care professionals from NDMS to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis in Memphis, TN. The team's mission: to augment the hospital’s emergency department and provide much needed support to local staff.
To address gaps in health care delivery during disasters, ASPR selects a fourth demonstration site for the Regional Disaster Health Response System, the Southern Regional Disaster Response System based at Emory University. The RDHRS sites form alliances & build specialized capabilities to improve health care readiness across the entire health care delivery system.
HHS activated its Emergency Prescription Assistance Program for Louisiana to give residents access to critical prescription medications and pay for prescription medications for people without health insurance affected by Hurricane Ida.
Secretary Xavier Becerra swore in Dawn O'Connell as the newly appointed Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response and Cheryl Campbell as the Assistant Secretary for Administration. Campbell had previously served in an acting role since March.
With this new tool, infusion sites can input data such as the number of infusion beds, number of staff, and scheduling policies. The output will provide helpful insights into areas of consideration such as staffing and space requirements.
