Health Care Industry Cybersecurity Task Force Third In-Person Meeting

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will host the third in-person meeting of the Health Care Industry Cybersecurity Task Force on October 26, 2106. Since the July 2016 meeting, the Task Force has continued its examination of medical devices, conducted public outreach to identify other issues for consideration related to the Task Force’s mandate, and identified and categorized cyber risks to the health care sector. The compilation of the data gathered through each of these efforts will inform the Task Force’s recommendations and the final report to Congress.

The open session of the October Task Force meeting will feature two panels that will discuss current initiatives to enhance healthcare industry cybersecurity from both the Government and commercial sector perspectives, with a focus on information sharing initiatives.

The Task Force was created by the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 and is comprised of government and private industry leaders who are innovators in technology and pioneers in health care.
